The assignment sheet serves as a major communication tool between me and home. Students write down their daily Arabic assignments on their assignment sheets, and behavior is documented on the bottom of the page.

Parents should monitor the assignment sheets daily, checking for teacher signatures on the behavior side and monitoring recorded homework.

Parents should also check for teacher comments and occasional notes attached. Assignment sheets should be signed and returned to school every day.

When I assign homework:

Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday nights, and occasionally on weekends. Assignments should take students no more than 20 minutes each night.

Students’ Homework Responsibilities: I expect homework to be neat, not sloppy and to be turned in on time. I expect students to do the work on their own and only ask for help after they have given it their best effort.

Parents’ Homework Responsibilities: Parents play an important role in making homework a positive experience for their children. Therefore, I ask that parents make homework a top priority, provide necessary supplies, set a daily homework time, and contact me if they notice a problem.

If Students Do Not Complete Homework: If students choose not to do their homework, I will talk with them to make sure they understand the assignment. If the problem persists, I will contact the parents to discuss possible solutions.
